Paris Confidential - FYI
In case you didn’t get to see it, I wanted to tell you that I’ve got an article in the March issue of Bon Appetit all about ten of my favorite kind of out-of-the-loop places in Paris. It’s called Paris Confidential and, while I’d love for you to see the story in the magazine because the layout is great and Quentin Bacon’s pictures are so, so good, you can read it online. And you can get even more suggestions of places to eat and shop in Paris if you listen to the podcast I did with Martha Simon, Bon Appetit’s online editor.
If hearing about these places makes you think of some of your favorites, I’d love to know about them – unless, of course, you think they’re too confidential.

Thanks again to all of you for your great comments -- when I can't be in Paris it's fun to be able to chat about Paris with you.
Rob, it's funny, but I had my "next-to-last supper" at l'Ourcine when I was in Paris in February. It's a great place and it keeps getting better.

Dorie, thanks for rekindling some wonderful memories of Paris meals past. On our last trip to Paris (two long years ago), Rachel and I had our "last supper" at L'Ourcine, an almost stereotypical Paris bistro, complete with chalkboard menus and neighbourhood clientele.
We were there during spring, and we enjoyed the best asparagus I've ever tasted. I'll never forget the Parisian sitting next to us insisting that we try a little of his wine. It was one of our best meals on a trip full of great food.

Oh, wow! I'm so excited you have a blog! I bought your cookbook not long ago and I'm SO excited about it because it comes so highly recommended. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with all of us!

Hi Dorie! You recently became my best best friend. I love your most recent book From my Home to Yours. I've already done over a dozen recipes and I've marked five that I want to try. My family is grateful because they are the ones who benefit the most. I'm recommending that you think of a "lose weight from all my wonderful recipes" book because I think I've spoiled them. Besides your wonderful recipes, I love the story-telling. It gives a personal touch to them, and your honesty...ufff! Great! Love the story about the cake that got you fired.
Thanks a bunch, your friend in Puerto Rico

I just wanted to drop a note to let you know I made your tall & creamy basic cheesecake the other day and it floored me. It's perfect! There's nothing about the recipe I would change. Thanks! :)

Wow, you have a food blog! Now my love of everything Dorie Greenspan can be part of my online world too. (Not that you weren't already there, seeing as so many people write about your recipes. In fact, I'm writing about one of your recipes later this week.)
Welcome to the blogosphere. :)

Hi Dorie, I'm so hungry after reading your pages. Glad to hear that you are doing so well. What a fun web page? or blog? I'm not a techy, so I'm not sure what to call this, but it is great.

Thank you so much for sharing, Dorie! What a treat to get the inside scoop from a real expert. I am so disappointed I did not hit ONE of these on my recent trip to Paris several months ago. Looks like I will have to get back there soon. . .
I am excited about your blog and will be checking in regularly. Although I (sadly) missed you last trip out to San Francisco, I will keep my eyes open for your next visit!

Thanks everyone for your comments.
Carol, I haven't been to the new restaurant in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, but I clipped a piece about it when I was in Paris and it's on my list.
Laura, I like Le Pre Verre too. I've never been to Beurre Noisette although I'd go just because I love everything about beurre noisette, from its name to the way the kitchen smells when I'm making it!

Hi Dorie,
Greetings from the Paris of the North, Montreal, Canada !
I am sitting with your new cookbook,
Baking, From My Home to Yours and alternating between cursing and blessing you. This is a gorgeous, too-tempting collection of wonderful, wonderful recipes. As a cookbook author colleague, I know too well what love, expertise and hours of fine writing and baking time went into this great book on baking. Sending you my warmest kudos - and now back to the kitchen and then back ON the treadmill!

I loved your Paris podcast with even more "confidential" tips. I couldn't write notes fast enough.
I did hear of a new museum restaurant. Have you been in the newly renovated Musée des Arts Décoratifs' and its new restaurant, LE SAUT DU LOUP? I loved the museum last trip. This time I'll try the restaurant. The chef is Pascal Bernier..

I just pulled it out of the magazine this afternoon to keep in my files. Thanks for the suggestions.
