YIPPEE!!!!!
Three seems to be my magic number today. Here’s all the good news I got this morning:
My newest book, BAKING FROM MY HOME TO YOURS, was nominated for both a James Beard Cookbook Award and a Cookbook Award from the IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals).
And, as though that isn’t thrilling enough, I just learned that at the James Beard Awards Ceremony in May I will be inducted into the Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America.
I’m so excited I can barely breathe. I wonder if Champagne would help...
Congratulations to you for a well deserved award!Thank you so much for this book...I am having the time of my life baking through it!

I love your chocolate amaretti torte and have made it numerous times. A couple of years ago, I devised a simple way to make it appropriate for Passover: I substitute ground macaroons for the ground amaretti cookies. Delicious.
For very kosher homes, I substitute margarine for the butter and kosher chocolate for real chocolate. It's still very good, just not as great as with real ingredients.

A comment from The Netherlands! I know that the first two ww's in www stand for world wide, but I still get knocked out when I think of how we can send our thoughts, dreams, ideas and work around the world with just a click.
Thank you everyone for this outpouring of good wishes. I really don't have words to describe how much your encouragement means to me.

Congratulations Dorie. Well deserved. Yes even overhere in the Netherlands you're known. Especially with "baking". Though we still have to order the books form Amazon. I just bought your "paris sweets", looking forward on baking something out of it!!
Good luck at all the events!!!

What a thrill it must be to be recognized this way. I was excited just to see my blog listed as a TWS Epicurious Food Blog I Like!
You have a beautiful blog and I will have to search out your book (even though my husband may divoce me if I bring home anymore cookbooks!)
As for the acclaim...Enjoy! This calls not only for champagne but a fabulous new dress!

Again and again and again, again -- THANK YOU! I am so truly and deeply touched by your good wishes, kind words and generous encouragement. It means so very much to me.
And, yes, I did have Champagne -- a couple of times! Did it calm me? Nope. Was it delicious and fun? You bet.

Bravo, félicitations et... mais bien sûr! You have confirmed the accuracy and credibility of these awards, and have now seen to it that the Who's Who of F&B is complete! Here's to all of that Champagne, but with some macarons and licorice to go with it - the celebration wouldn't be complete without them! Gros bisous!

A day of triple delights -- how exciting! I'm so pleased for you. Sometimes it seems in our age we hand out gold stars for breathing, but your hard work and contributions are worthy of the recognition you are receiving. Enjoy a little bask!

Dorie
Congratulations on your nominations--very well deserved.
I am so glad I found your site and your blog. I recently "discovered" I've had one of your cookbooks (Waffles) for more than a decade--which is probably why Baking felt so familiar and comforting--like an old friend cooking with me :)
