Paris - At Last!
I am finally home in Paris having been to:
- Reims
- Epernay
- Troyes
- Dijon
- Beaune
- and points in between and beyond
These were five incredibly jam-packed days and I've got tons I want to tell you, but first I've got to unpack my mind - no small job, especially since I leave again Tuesday morning, this time to go to Bordeaux and the Pays Basque!
Until I can write, I give you the picture of Edith Piaf that went up on a wall on rue de Seine (just off rue de Buci in the 6th arrondissement) and this little slice of Pierre Herme's window. In case you don't recognize the face, it's Pierre's. Behind him, the color wheel spins and below him (not in the picture - he has the hardest windows to photograph) are cartons of ice cream - 'tis the season.

Fanny - it's great that you're in Paris and super-great that you're working with Pierre Herme. You're right: He's a genius!
Paola - I don't know if you've left for Burgundy yet or not - I wish I knew where you were going. If you're going to Beaune, try to go to the Alain Hess cheeseshop. And if you're going to Dijon, stop in at La Rose de Vergy for great pain d'epices. I'm going to post about these places as soon as I can catch my breath.
Thank you Christine -- I'll get stories up soon.

Ah, Piaf! I bet you had a great time. I'm headed to Bourgogne in just a little over two weeks and can hardly wait. We've fallen in love with the country, its culture and its food.
