Dimply Plum Cake on Serious Eats

This week's Baking with Dorie recipe on Serious Eats is my Dimply Plum Cake from Baking From My Home to Yours.  It's a brown sugar and spice cake topped with plums that's very simple to make and so easy to serve - it's a terrific brunch treat and nice with tea later in the day.  It's the kind of cake than can make a sweet weekend even sweeter.  I hope you enjoy it!  Bon week-end!

I made this cake this morning with peaches and then what do I see when I check your site?!
I was going to wait and make it with plums from my Grandma's tree but my peaches were ripe and the plums aren't yet.

Ho, ho, should I add that I made this right after I got your book. Super good!

I made the Dimply Plum Cake last weekend as I saw some really nice plums at our local farmer's market. I was a bit apprehensive as to how it would turn out as I live in the U.K and our flours are a little different and also I am not used to measuring by volume! However, I was really pleased with the cake and used it as a pudding warm , with creme fraiche and also cold as a cake, it was delicious both ways. I have also made two different muffin recipes and your chocolate banana cake, all have turned out really well and have been enjoyed by all my family. I am so glad I bought your book.

I made your plum cake this summer and it is fabulous!
